Law and Ethics for Accounting and Finance

The aim of this module is to develop knowledge and skills of business law and ethics for accountants in the UK. This understanding is achieved through the study of general legal framework and specific legal areas relevant to the profession. In addition, the aim of the module is to enable you to develop transferable employability skills including written communication, problem solving, decision making, commercial awareness and time management skills.
Topics the module will cover will include contract law, tort, employment law, ethics and professional standards and consumer law. The module also looks at the structure and financing of enterprises, insolvency and criminal behaviour.
