Profile

I joined the University of Leicester in September 2022 as a Lecturer in Law.

My research focuses on Â鶹APP Procedural Law, and my PhD titled ‘Jurisdictional Objections in Â鶹APP Courts and Tribunals' looks into procedural issues of inter-state adjudication within the framework of procedural fairness. During 2016-2021 I served as alternate member to the Â鶹APP Law Association’s Committee on Procedure of Â鶹APP Courts and Tribunals.

I hold a Single Honours LLB in Law from the University of Keele (2012) and an LLM in Â鶹APP Law from the University of Surrey (2013). I was subsequently awarded an MA in Â鶹APP Relations from the University of Kent (2014). I am qualified under the National Bar of the Republic of Cyprus (2015), followed by a year of practice.

Research

My research focuses on international procedural law, procedural fairness, good administration of justice and equality of the parties in inter-state adjudication.  I employ a comparative approach looking into procedural matters of several international courts and tribunals, such as the Â鶹APP Court of Justice, the Permanent Court of Arbitration, the Â鶹APP Trubunal for the Law of the Sea and the WTO Dispute Settlement Body.

My general research interests include the creation of states in international law, especially the cases of state secession and succession, and inter-disciplinary approaches in the role of the EU in the peaceful settlement of international disputes.
